Learning the ABC’s of Mathematica

Mathematica is an extremely versatile computational program used in basically anything. It has relevance in many scientific, engineering, mathematical, and computing fields and has an extremely unique intelligent automation system. While learning R and Python was a harder learning curve for me, Mathematica seemingly lept into my hands, ready to use. The elegant and easy-to-use interface invited me temptingly to do everything from attempting to build a facial recognition system to analyzing how acres of arable land affect population increase rates worldwide. The powerful algorithms and neatly integrated functions made it so easy to just jump in.

My Journey

I am still relatively new to Mathematica, having only been first exposed less than 3 months ago. But these past three months, I have gotten to have a practical experience rather than basic drilling of simple commands. Instead, I learned how to use commands in a useful sense which made it easier to dive in and start learning. Regardless, I’d like to share the ABCs that made up my journey.
